Our Mission

The Business of Matrimony was created for the benefit of the professional wedding consultant. Conceptualized and developed by Linnyette Richardson-Hall, a nationally renowned wedding planner and industry expert, the company has produced seminars, workshops and national conferences since 1999.

As her own wedding consulting company expanded, Linnyette was frequently asked how she got started and the secrets of managing a successful nuptial planning firm. Taking her knowledge and passion for the industry, she developed the Power Course workshops series, which have been taught in cities across the United States. These intensive, 2 day classes give new and seasoned consultants a critical, hard-line look into the business of wedding planning and how to make the most of the enterprises they are building.

With the success of the Power Course series, participants wanted more time and resource information, so 21st Century Nuptials came onto the horizon in 2002. Developed as a direct response to the needs of the professional wedding consultant, this national symposium covers a wide range of topics and issues, with a myriad of classes and workshops for each attendee to choose from. The first convocation was held in November 2002 at the luxurious Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel and boasted participants from across the United States as well as consultants from the United Kingdom. 21st Century Nuptials 2003 will be held in Miami, Florida - and subsequent annual gathering are planned for various locales throughout the U.S. and other regions.

The field of wedding planning is a fairly new genre, and as such, it's important that those who wish to pursue this field have access to the latest information and trends. This website will endeavor to act as a resource by offering concise, concrete and valuable information to professional wedding consultants.
